Reporting In #Mamavation Monday
So… my goals for last week were to track my food, and run 3 x plus a long run. I signed up for My Fitness Pal – which I really like. It was so much easier to track food on that than with the Weight Watcher’s mobile app. My big complaint about Weight Watchers tracking is that most of the foods they already have in their system are processed/packaged or from national chains. Since I don’t eat a whole lot of packaged or processed food, and rarely eat at national chains, I was always having to enter my foods every time.
My Fitness Pal, on the other hand, has a lot of user-generated foods. I haven’t had to enter anything myself yet, because it’s all there. Even the little Tribe hummus packs from Costco! Yes, it’s packaged. But it’s also extremely convenient and healthy!
I did not track every day.
But let me tell you about the first day. I ate all veggies all day, and had some leftover pasta for dinner and a glass of wine. Since I had only consumed about 500 calories all day before I got home for dinner, even after dinner I was still thinking I must have a lot of calories left for the day. I kinda thought I should have some more wine and some popcorn. You know, because I had been so diligent all day. Fortunately, I decided to catch up on tracking dinner before indulging in that snack. Good thing, because I was 150 calories over my target!
If I had left it to my own judgement, I would have eaten the popcorn and had more wine, and continued to wonder why I’m not losing weight.
I ran three times, for a total of 10 miles. Not as much as I set out to run, but three is better than none. I’ll do better this week. I have a giant event this week, it’s Packy’s 50th Birthday. This is a huge deal, and I’m honored to be running this campaign and event. Keeping my goals in mind will prevent me from totally going overboard on stress eating.
My goals for this week:
Track food intake at least 5 out of 7 days.
Run 5 times. I ran today, and I’ll run Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Packy’s Birthday is Saturday, but I plan to do my long run on Sunday. I copped out of my long run this past week, I used a busy Rabbit Romp as my excuse. But truth be told, it was kind of a good excuse. 12,570 people attended that event, and I barely sat down the whole time. But this isn’t about making excuses, is it? It’s about looking forward!
So… tell me your goals for this week!
