I saw these little monster cheese balls appetizer, and thought it would be such a cute thing to try for Halloween this year. Aren’t they adorable?
However, here’s how mine turned out:

My food color pens just didn’t do the trick, so I used olives on the eyes instead, and cut up a jalapeno (from my garden!) for the mouths.

This was pretty messy, but not terribly difficult. Anna thought it was a BLAST to make these, so I’d consider doing it again just for that reason. I served them with pita chips – it’s a lot of cheese for one bite, so they’re really best served with something.
