Summer of Fun: Portland’s Summer Free for All

Portland Parks and Rec and the Portland Parks Foundation are pulling out all the stops for a super fun summer, called “Summer Free For All.”

Frozen soundtrack on sale on iTunes through 8/15/14Next week is a showing of the movie “Frozen” at Laurelhurst Park — but it’s a singalong! Can you imagine? I wish we could go, but it’s also Hood to Coast weekend.

To get prepared, you should really check out this one-day sale on iTunes. Through Friday 8/15, you can download the whole album for only $5.99!

My friend Mary and I packed up the kids for a showing of the classic Wizard of Oz last night at Washington Park, and it was perfect! The movie starts at dusk, so we had time to each feed our families at home – that makes the whole schlepping issue so much easier. We packed blankets, popcorn and water for the kids, plus low chairs and wine for us.

Check out the rest of the summer schedule here, and make the most of these last few weeks of summer!
