Calling All Fourth-Graders: Anna is Frustrated. Has This Ever Happened to You?

Hello, I’m Anna and this is a story about how there are ups and downs about life [example of a down happened in mine]. And it can really get under your skin. This is a TRUE! story about my communication problems with my fellow students. And now I shall start. I love to read a lot. At my table I had one problem with reading. I did it too much [but now I don’t do it as much now but I still have a problem] my table mates were: only telling me to stop! I wasn’t the only one who read too often, but I was the only one that got any static! UNFAIR ALERT! I tried telling other kids to stop reading BUT they didn’t listen to me, and said, ”You read more.” OK they are totally unfair and they expect me to be okay about it! Why am I the only one to get static??!?

I’M NOT DUMB, I can see that nobody else is getting called out, but why am I the only one to get static about it! I tried to make it clear that I didn’t like being the only one called out, but EVERY time I tell them [or at least tried] they didn’t listen and I eventually I gave up on telling them and I don’t get complaints but they still don’t tell ANYONE else, only when I do it!

If this happens don’t let it get too deep into your skin. It makes it worse if you let it get too deep under your skin. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this that is TOTALLY UNFAIR. Please report back, and share this with any fourth-graders that you know. I would like to know if anyone else feels like they are being treated unfairly, or if it’s just me. I’m pretty sure there is bound to be at least one other person.
